THE HIGHLAND COUNCIL
The Council has made The Highland Council (Castle Wynd, Inverness) (Temporary
Closure) Order (Amendment Number 3) Order 2020 under the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, and related legislation, to temporarily prohibit traffic from using
the U3831 Castle Wynd, Inverness, commencing at its junction with Bridge Street
(B861) and extending in a southerly direction to its termination a distance of 89
metres or thereby. The prohibition is required to enable works to safely proceed and
will apply to the whole, or a part of the road, when a prohibition is identified by means
of one or more of the appropriate temporary traffic signs as prescribed in the ‘Traffic
Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016’. The closure was scheduled to finish
by 18:00 hours on Monday 1 June 2020, but a further extension to the closure period
is now required as work has been suspended in accordance with the guidance issued
in respect of coronavirus. Once work on site resumes, the road will have to remain
closed to enable the completion of this project. The Order shall come into effect at
18:00 hours on Monday 1 June 2020 and shall remain in force until 18:00 hours on
Tuesday 30 June 2020 inclusive. A further review may be necessary and will be subject
to future government guidance. Any enquires should be addressed to The Highland
