ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984 – SECTION 14(1) AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT, 1991 WALSALL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH A454 MELLISH ROAD, WALSALL (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2021 Notice is hereby given that Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council intends to make an ORDER, the effect of which will be to prevent any vehicle from proceeding in that length of carriageway of A454 Mellish Road that is situated from its junction with the A461 Lichfield Road Roundabout to its junction with the roundabout that leads to The Dikle Public House. Signed diversion routes will be in operation for affected traffic and access to adjacent properties will be maintained wherever it is safe and possible to do so. diversion route for traffic affected by the closure will be signed via A454 Aldridge Road, Longwood Lane, B4151 Sutton Road, A4148 Broadway North and Lichfield Street, and vice versa. The Order will come into operation on Saturday 26 June 2021 and will remain in force for 18 months or until the work is completed, whichever is the earlier. The prohibition of traffic is appropriate to ensure that carriageway surface dressing and associate works can be undertaken in a safe manner by a contractor working on behalf of Walsall Council.
