Notice of application for a transfer licence to abstract (take)
water for a previously exempt abstraction
Canal and River Trust has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence to
abstract water.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with
Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water
Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.
The application is for a licence to abstract (take) water from the Rising Brook
in Rugeley, Staffordshire at National Grid Reference SK 04686 18183 to transfer
water via a piped feeder without intervening use into the Trent and Mersey Canal
for the purpose of supporting navigation.
Abstraction will take place all year at the abstract rates of 106,696 cubic metres
per year, 9,211 cubic metres per day, 385 cubic metres per hour, and 107 litres
per second
