(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS)
ORDER 2017
Notice is hereby given that the Department for Transport has
granted approval for the extension of an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any traffic from proceeding along the
Restricted Byway 107 Walsall, at the railway level crossing at
junction with footpath 110 Walsall, near to Wallows Lane.
The alternative route for pedestrians affected by this Order will be
via the existing highway along Byway 107 Walsall, Wallows Lane,
Bescot Road, Wallows Lane and Byway 107, Walsall.
The Order will be extended for a further 12 months from 20th
April 2020 and the restricted byway will be closed for the
duration of the ongoing investigations and safety improvements,
up to a maximum period of 12 months. It is anticipated that the
investigations and work will take the maximum permitted 12
month closure period.
The Order is required during ongoing Network Rail investigations
and safety improvements following a fatality at the level crossing.
