Public Consultation on the
Proposed Lythmore Solar Farm
Lythmore Limited is conducting a public consultation event
on a proposal to construct a solar farm development with a
capacity of up to 120 megawatts and up to 200 megawatts
capacity Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on land
approximately 5km west of Thurso, Caithness. The closest
settlement to the proposed solar farm would be Viewfield.
The second public consultation event relating to the proposal
will be held on
Tuesday 18th March (12pm until 3pm and 5pm until
8pm) at Pentland Hotel Thurso

This event will provide information about the project and
members of the project team will be available to answer
questions.
Attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback
about the proposals by completing a feedback form.
The final deadline for submitting comments will be the 30th
April 2025.
PLEASE NOTE that comments submitted at this stage are
not representations to the consenting authority (Scottish
Ministers) and if the applicant submits an application there
will be an opportunity to make representations on that
application to the Scottish Ministers. This public consultation
is an opportunity to comment on our plans, which may alter
before a formal application is made.
