THE HIGHLAND COUNCIL
The Council has made The Highland Council (Various Roads In The Crown and
Hill Districts Of Inverness) (Temporary Closures) (Amendment Number 1)
Order 2021 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and related legislation, to
temporarily prohibit traffic from using various roads in The Crown and Hill Districts
of Inverness. These roads are as listed in the original order (The Principal Order) titled
The Highland Council (Various Roads In The Crown And Hill Districts Of
Inverness) (Temporary Closures) Order 2021 and the road closures are required
to enable fibre optic cable installation works to safely proceed and will apply to
the whole, or a part of the road, when a prohibition is identified by means of one
or more of the appropriate temporary traffic signs as prescribed in the ‘Traffic
Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016’. The Principal Order was scheduled
to finish by 18:00 hours on Friday 30 April 2021, but an extension to the closure
period is now required as progress has been slower than expected. This extension is
